Who I Want To Be Online

This blog post is largely inspired by Chloe Plumstead’s post on the same topic. In her post, she discusses her own personal struggles with her confidence issues and living her life online and it’s really pushed me to think about what I’m sharing on here and what I want to be achieving with this platform.

I’ve created approximately four different blogs in the last 4 years, and to be honest, nothing has stuck. And even this particular one has been so irregularly uploaded to that I’ve forgotten the password multiple times.

This kind of topic is something that I’ve thought about so much, and has often crippled me from creating at all. Figuring out who I want to be and what kind of content I want to create will come from trial and error, and the only way I’m going to sort that out is by creating some parameters for myself and be open to learn from my mistakes. So I’m going to take you through a few personal goals and ideas that I have for this blog that will hopefully come to fruition…

My first goal is to do what I do best: create and schedule content. My educational background is in social media management and content creation, so I hope to apply those learnings to my own blog and regulate the content so I’m constantly creating and pushing myself to do more. I currently have until the end of the year organised and scheduled, and I really hope that I stick to it this time.

At the core of this experience, I want to share. I’m quite a conversational writer, and love reading blogs that are too. I’d love to discuss and research more topics that appeal to me; art history, current affairs and politics, feminism, sex, coffee, music. All of these things I have such a strong affinity with and want to talk about them more with a different group of people.

Like Chloe and so many other bloggers out there that I follow, I want to get more into talking about makeup, skincare and fashion and what it means to me. I like to think of myself as a sustainable, conscious person and nine times out of ten I am able to translate that into how I consume within the fashion and beauty industries.

Ideally I’d like to start making YouTube videos again (and more than just singing videos). I have a love for taking photos and filming and I’d like to get back to that and feel creative in a different way. This is something I have been thinking about for a long time and constantly kick myself that I haven’t started sooner. Moving to a new city and turning 21 makes me feel like a new lease on life and I’m ready and open to being inspired by my new surroundings.

Thanks so much for reading, tune in next week because I’m about 99.99% sure that there will be a blog post.
